If you work slowly but constantly, you will succeed better than if you work fast for a short while and do not continue. “Slow and steady wins the race" is the moral of the fable about the tortoise and the hare. The short rendition of it: The hare boasted that it was the fastest animal and could beat any other animal in a race. He laughed when the tortoise accepted his challenge. Of course, he took off and left the tortoise behind and he had such a lead, he decided to take a break here and there. The hare ran quickly and then stopped periodically, feeling confident about winning because the tortoise was so slow. But the tortoise just kept plodding along, slow and steady. Well, the hare got distracted during his last break and he didn’t realize that the tortoise had crossed the finish line. Slow and steady wins the race.
